Many of these cuts will disproportionately harm women and children around the country and around the world. Just this week, Trump directed the new Secretary of Health and Human Services—conspiracy theorist RFK Jr.—to “study” the safety of medication abortion even though it has been FDA approved for almost 25 years. Make no mistake: If the Trump Administration bans medication abortion, that is a federal abortion ban. End of sentence. With a majority of women using medication abortion to end their pregnancies, this is a direct attack on reproductive freedom. I have spent years fighting to defend women and their bodily autonomy.
