Email from Rep. McCaul Honoring Legacy, Defending Freedom: My Journey in Service During a recent interview, I had the opportunity to reflect on the enduring legacy of my father. He served as a B-17 bombardier during World War II and motivated me to pursue a career in public service. His generation — the Greatest Generation — has always inspired me and led me to ask myself, "What can I do to make the world better for the next generation?" Throughout my career, I’ve strived to do just that by founding the Childhood Cancer Caucus, chairing two important committees, strengthening counterterrorism efforts, and working to countering the malign influence of the Chinese Communist Party across the world. This is the best country in the world, and I believe its best days are yet to come. I have a vision for our country of peace through deterrence, prosperity for the people, and a truly United States, rather than a divided states. Every day, I carry forward my father's lessons as I work to safeguard our nation’s values and protect the freedoms that define America. This dual legacy — personal and political — fuels my commitment to ensuring that our great country remains a bastion of liberty and opportunity. You can watch my full interview on my inspiration to serve below: Click to Watch Putting America First: Energy Independence and Consumer Choice This week, I voted to overturn two of the Biden administration’s harmful rules that have burdened American families for too long with higher energy costs and fewer choices. I stood up against the EPA’s reckless natural gas tax and the DOE’s overreaching standards for gas-fired water heaters — actions that have hurt our energy sector and driven up costs at a time when Americans need relief. I'm proud to join my colleagues in taking a stand for America’s energy independence, protecting our jobs, and ensuring Texas and our nation continue to lead in powering the future. I remain dedicated to putting common sense over bureaucracy and unleashing American energy! www.mccaul.house.gov Washington, D.C. 2300 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: 202-225-2401 Fax: 202-225-5955 Austin 11614 FM 2244 Suite 160 Austin, TX 78738 Fax: 512-473-0514 College Station 175 Century Square Drive Suite 210 College Station, TX 77840 Phone: (979) 431-6480 Fax: (979) 431-5180 Rep.
