During a recent interview, I had the opportunity to reflect on the enduring legacy of my father. He served as a B-17 bombardier during World War II and motivated me to pursue a career in public service. His generation — the Greatest Generation — has always inspired me and led me to ask myself, "What can I do to make the world better for the next generation?"
Throughout my career, I’ve strived to do just that by founding the Childhood Cancer Caucus, chairing two important committees, strengthening counterterrorism efforts, and working to countering the malign influence of the Chinese Communist Party across the world.
This is the best country in the world, and I believe its best days are yet to come. I have a vision for our country of peace through deterrence, prosperity for the people, and a truly United States, rather than a divided states.
Every day, I carry forward my father's lessons as I work to safeguard our nation’s values and protect the freedoms that define America. This dual legacy — personal and political — fuels my commitment to ensuring that our great country remains a bastion of liberty and opportunity.
