Marine heatwaves will cripple salmon, cod and pollock at twice the rate previously predicted, study says
-KTOO News

John --

I've been commercial fishing in Alaska since I was 14. I'm a lifelong Alaskan -- and I can sadly confirm what dead salmon look like after having died from heat-related stress.

I'm sorry for having to talk about dead fish -- but it's important to show people what climate change looks like. Also, know that these dead fish aren't just a loss of marine life -- they also represent a loss of livelihood for thousands of Alaska's commercial fishermen and families.

When I'm in the Senate, I won't just take on the politicians who deny medical facts and put our health in danger -- I'll also take on the climate change deniers who put the health of our marine life, our way of life, and our entire planet in danger too.

If you're with me to protect our health, the health of our ecosystems, and the health of our planet, chip in $5 or more before our end-of-month fundraising deadline.

Alaska is warming faster than any other state in America. Our glaciers continue to melt. Our fish -- especially Pacific cod -- are disappearing and forcing fisheries to close and Alaskans to lose their jobs. Our way of life is at risk.

But Dan Sullivan won't do anything about global warming. He thinks the "verdict is still out."

The verdict from the Center for Politics and Newsweek is that Alaska is a battleground Senate seat. We can win this race and bring a prescription for change to Washington that takes on the challenge of climate change.

Dan Sullivan has a $4.6 million war chest from special interests, so we need grassroots supporters like you to chip in what you can when you can.

I refuse to take corporate PAC checks -- so I'm counting on you, John. Chip in $5 or more if you can before our critical end-of-month deadline on Sunday.

Thank you for believing in science -- and in me.

In these uncertain times, it's never mattered more to send a doctor to Washington who can take on the failed status quo and deliver a real prescription for change.

The number one priority during this time is to make sure everyone helps mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Alaska and across the country. Our campaign is doing our part by canceling all in-person events, moving to a digital operation, and supporting local efforts to help those in need. Emails like this are a critical part of our ability to run a strong campaign that can win.
