When Apollo was found in Cleveland with a horrific injury to his right front paw, Alley Cat Allies ensured he was rushed to veterinary care and covered the cost of his treatment as well as veterinary forensics to help determine the cause of the injury. The trauma to Apollo’s foot meant his entire leg had to be surgically amputated.
Along with providing that vital support, we incentivized the community to come forward with any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. We are taking similar, impactful action in other cases of disturbing and lethal cruelty to cats.
But we won’t stop there. Alley Cat Allies will continue to seek justice and advocate for the strongest penalties under the law for acts of cruelty. Arresting, convicting, and sentencing perpetrators to years of jail time, and other measures that limit their access to animals, sets a critical precedent for the entire country and a deterrent against future cruelty.
