Hi John,

It’s time to take action.

The radical new assisted suicide expansion bill introduced last week by Oregon Democrats, SB 1003, has been scheduled for a public hearing on Monday, March 3rd, and I need you to be there to oppose it.

SB 1003 would obliterate the 15-day waiting period, allow non-physicians to prescribe lethal medication, and require hospices to advertise whether they facilitate assisted suicide.

This bill is about death on demand. It’s dangerous, and it must be defeated.

Join me at the Capitol on Monday to oppose this bill and support the medically vulnerable members of our community.

What: Present an overwhelming pro-life presence opposing SB 1003

Where: Oregon State Capitol, Hearing Room E

Date: Monday, March 3rd

Time: 3:00 PM

Over the past few days, hundreds of pro-life advocates across Oregon have sent messages to their state senators expressing their opposition to the bill (haven’t sent one yet? Click here to do that now [[link removed]]).

Your action has been incredible.

But we can’t stop here.

I need your help to show radical death-on-demand activists that we will not give up on our elderly and medically vulnerable friends and community members.

SB 1003 would…

allow non-physicians like nurse practitioners and physician assistants to prescribe lethal medication under Oregon’s “Death With Dignity Act;”reduce the state’s 15-day waiting period to just 48 hours;require hospices and hospitals to publicly disclose whether they participate in assisted suicide, making it easier for vulnerable people to be directed toward those facilities.

This bill is radical, callous, and dangerous.

Please plan to come to the Capitol on Monday.

I need as many people as possible to show up for those who cannot advocate for themselves.

Whether or not you are able to come, please make sure to submit written testimony opposing SB 1003. Your voice matters.

I’ll be sending out some reminders as the public hearing draws closer. Please make plans to come. We must defeat this bill.

Because everyone deserves an advocate,

Sharolyn Smith

Political Director
