Dear friend,
When I came to America as a student in 1958, the civil rights movement was just beginning to burgeon into an unstoppable force of change for Black Americans.
I watched as Black Americans gained our hard-earned civil rights. Now, I’ve been around to see many Republican administrations come and go — but never one as anti-Black as this one. One sustained by a Republican Congress that’s more than willing to go along with their agenda.
This is history that can’t be erased — regardless of what House Republicans and corporations pandering for favor with the current administration have to say about it.
Another truth: My daughter, Yvette, has always stood on the frontlines to defend Black America from those who push a hateful anti-Black agenda and want to strip our rights and protections back to a time when our community was discriminated against simply for being Black.
And friend, with my daughter as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, she’s putting the record-number 62 CBC members to good use and doing all she can to undo the Republican march against Black Americans and our rights.
Now, she needs you. If you can, will you consider donating to my daughter to help her protect our rights and fully fight back against the attacks on Black America? We need 100 more donations today to keep up with our end-of-month fundraising goal! [[link removed]]

Thank you for always standing with my daughter.
