Our nation stands as a testament to the world to showcase the power of diversity. Yet, in the little more than a month that this hostile administration has been in office, friend, we’ve seen countless steps away from equality.
Dismantling Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in schools and the workforce was just the start . Now, they’re coming after Social Security, Medicare, and even the Department of Education.
This isn’t a new part of the Republican playbook. When the CBC went to President Nixon to demand equality for Black Americans in 1971, he refused to meet with them. Not backing down, they refused to attend his State of the Union, making national headlines in the process.
This battle with President Nixon is not only a powerful reminder of the challenges we must continue to confront on our long path to equity — but a reminder of the power of the CBC.
Whether it was calling for an end to the Apartheid regime in South Africa 14 years early, electing the nation's first Black President, or ensuring corporate America delivers on its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion commitments, the CBC has always been at the forefront of progress.
We have a unique challenge ahead of us. As leader of the largest Congressional Black Caucus in history, I’m committed to doing whatever it takes to push forward our unending mission to improve the lives of Black Americans in this country.
But I'll need help from supporters like you, friend, if we want to keep fighting back. Will you help me stop the erosion of our fundamental rights and freedoms? [[link removed]]

The CBC and I will never stop fighting for our rights.
