The United States voted with Russia, North Korea, Iran, and 14 other Moscow-friendly countries Monday against a resolution condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine and calling for the return of Ukrainian territory. Some of my earliest memories are listening to Flack in the car on the radio or at home spinning one of her masterful records. Before her star rose, Flack was a Washington, DC school teacher who honed her skills in a small nightclub on Capitol Hill.
