Hi friend,
As you’ve heard, Elon Musk and his “goon squad of young dorks” [[link removed]] are trying to dissolve the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This unprecedented, illegal move—alongside Donald Trump’s executive order calling for a ninety day “freeze” on foreign aid—is wreaking havoc on the international development community, and most importantly on the lifesaving humanitarian aid programs around the world that rely on USAID funding and staff.
These include programs [[link removed]] that distribute critical family planning, reproductive health, and maternal health services around the world that work to prevent unintended pregnancy and unsafe abortion and the pregnancy and birth related injuries and deaths that result from both.
Take Action to Save USAID! [[link removed]]
USAID plays a critical role in empowering people and building democracies, in furthering reproductive health and rights, and in preventing the spread of disease and the scourge of food insecurity.
Join with us as we support our friends [[link removed]] at USAID by signing a petition, calling your representatives, and sharing on social media today.
If you live in Washington, DC, join us tomorrow [[link removed]] [[link removed]] [[link removed]] , February 5, for a #SaveUSAID rally [[link removed]] from 11:30-12:30 at Upper Senate Park.
Thanks for your work to protect this critical US humanitarian agency.
Sincerely,
[[link removed]] John Seager
