** New Research Suggests Outbreak Began in U.S. in Mid-February

New research suggests that the coronavirus outbreak began in the United States in mid-February — a conclusion that could change our understanding of how the virus spread here, as the
Washington Post reports ([link removed]) .
The Post also reports ([link removed]) that a leading Covid-19 model predicts the death toll in Brazil could surpass 125,000 by early August.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said today that the State Department no longer considered Hong Kong to have significant autonomy under Chinese rule, a move that indicated a likely end to some or all of the U.S. special trade and economic relations with Hong Kong, as the

** Troop Strength Lower Ahead of Schedule in Afghanistan
