A Tragic Day in America 💔

It’s difficult to find the words to address the tragedy that unfolded here in
Washington this week.



For the first time in nearly 16 years, we’ve witnessed a major air crash
involving a commercial flight. With some of the safest airspace in the world,
it’s difficult to fathom something like this happening, but 60 passengers and
four crew members were on board the American Airlines flight when an Army
helicopter carrying four service members crashed into it—and officials tell us
there are no survivors.



Kelly and I are heartbroken for the families who have received the worst news
imaginable, and I promise to do anything I can to support them in the days
ahead.



To the first responders who jumped into action, frantically searching for
survivors in the icy cold waters of the Potomac—you are heroes, and we are so
grateful for your bravery.

I have no doubt that this investigation will be thorough to ensure we get
answers for the families and prevent something like this from happening again.

Vols Needed In East Tennessee 🧡

Roughly nine percent of Tennessee seniors struggle to afford or access
food—nearly double the national average.



Fortunately, the folks over at Mobile Meals are filling in the gaps by
delivering food to homebound seniors in Knox County. But as our senior
population grows, the demand keeps climbing.



Even with 100+ volunteers making the rounds every day, Mobile Meals could use
