Among those pardoned were members of extremist groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers—people who committed violence against police officers and sought to overturn the democratic process.

This sends a dangerous message: that there are no consequences for attacking democracy.

But we know the truth. These were acts of domestic terrorism in many cases. And the clemency granted by Trump risks emboldening these extremists to act again.
