** Dear John,
------------------------------------------------------------

Too often, victims of trafficking are arrested for crimes that are a direct result of their exploitation. This miscarriage of justice compounds their trauma and denies them the protection they desperately need.

Below is an excerpt from a recent trafficking case in South Africa:

“...trafficked persons should always be treated as victims of a crime and holders of rights. They should not be criminalized, re-victimized or re-traumatized as a result of their contact with law enforcement and judicial authorities. Too often, in fact, victims are treated as criminals or illegal migrants and are detained, charged, or prosecuted for violations of immigration law or for activities committed as a direct consequence of their being trafficked.”

We are committed to changing this narrative.

Our mission is to equip officers and prosecutors with the tools they need to focus on the root of the problem—the traffickers. Through strategic training and legal expertise, we aim to ensure that traffickers are held accountable, and victims are treated with the dignity and justice they deserve.
