Dear Health Advocates,

We are excited to see many of you next week at our 2025 Health Action Conference — our 30th HAC! If you haven’t registered, please do so here ([link removed]) and join us along with over 500 attendees. The conference is at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC on January 23-24 and this year's theme is From the Frontlines: Forging the Path Forward Together.

But before then, this Thursday, January 16 at 1-2pm ET there will be a Medicaid Defense strategy call hosted by Community Catalyst, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, NHeLP and Families USA. You can register here ([link removed]). Along with new resources, opportunities to engage, and discussion on collaboration, the call will include:
• A legislative update on federal Medicaid threats;
• A presentation from alignco on what the latest Cost and Coverage Collaborative message testing to GOP voters shows about effective ways to talk about Medicaid.

We are also excited to share a new Medicaid 101 Fact Sheet! Medicaid Matters: To People, Our Economy and the Health Care System focuses on this vital health care program and emphasizes a key bottom line: Cutting Medicaid would make our country’s affordability crisis much worse.

And finally, Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Tammy Baldwin, and Representative Lauren Underwood recently reintroduced their Health Care Affordability Act. This bicameral legislation would make permanent the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced tax credits that make marketplace health plans more affordable for the vast majority of Americans. Read more from FUSA here.
