John, as I write this, national guard officer and Fox & Friends weekend co-host Pete Hegseth just finished his confirmation hearing and Senate Majority Leader John Thune is promising to bring his nomination for a vote in the Senate right away.

As an Air Force veteran, I find Hegseth’s comments about women in the military reprehensible. I served because I, like the two million female veterans in the U.S. today, had valuable skills that our country needed. 

Hegseth shouldn’t even be under consideration for multiple reasons, any one of which would, in normal times, be disqualifying: 

* His inability to run a small organization – let alone one as large as the Pentagon;
* His challenges with alcohol;
* The allegations of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace against him.

Like you, I don’t have much of a say in this – only Senators do. But we can still speak out. 

I'm standing against Pete Hegseth's appointment. Will you join me?
