John, as I write this, national guard officer and Fox & Friends weekend co-host Pete Hegseth just finished his confirmation hearing, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune is promising to bring his nomination for a vote in the Senate right away.

As an Air Force veteran, I find Hegseth’s comments about women in the military reprehensible. I served because I, like the two million female veterans in the U.S. today, had valuable skills that our country needed.
|
|
Hegseth shouldn’t even be under consideration for multiple reasons, any one of which would, in normal times, be disqualifying:
|
- His inability to run a small organization – let alone one as large as the Pentagon;
- His challenges with alcohol;
- The allegations of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace against him.
|
|
Like you, I don’t have much of a say in this – only Senators do. But we can still speak out.
