GOP appeals request to toss 60k ballots in North Carolina
* The Republican National Committee appealed its request to toss 60,000 ballots in North Carolina to a state appeals court after a lower court rejected it.

Voter ID amendment will be on Wisconsin’s ballot in April election
* During a state election in April, Wisconsin will vote on a measure to enshrine voter ID requirements in the state constitution. GOP lawmakers passed ([link removed]) a proposal yesterday to put an ID question before voters on the same ballot as a consequential state Supreme Court race.

The latest on the state of democracy in Minnesota
* Minnesota Democrats filed ([link removed]) petitions in the state Supreme Court, alleging state House Republicans acted unlawfully by electing a speaker without a quorum after Democrats boycotted the session. The GOP has a one-seat majority in the chamber, which is likely temporary because of an upcoming special election.
* A Minnesota appeals court will hear ([link removed]) a lawsuit Thursday challenging the state’s requirement that voters obtain the signature of a witness to cast an absentee ballot. Voters argue that the law violates the Voting Rights Act.
