Minnesota Democrats filed petitions in the state Supreme Court, alleging state House Republicans acted unlawfully by electing a speaker without a quorum after Democrats boycotted the session. The GOP has a one-seat majority in the chamber, which is likely temporary because of an upcoming special election.
