A slightly blurred collage of community photos. A march with yellow signs, two people hugging, a meeting, and a person talking on a megaphone are visible. There is a transparent blue overlay and a semi-transparent lighter blue box with the words "Headwaters Foundation for Justice e-newsletter" in black.<[link removed]>

Visioning Liberation with Local Artists
Curated by
Sati Varghese Mac<[link removed]>, our 2025 artist calendar features 12 visionary and revolutionary BIPOC artists from Minnesota. Each artist connects their works to the fight for collective liberation, responding to prompts like, "What is your vision for your community in the next 40 years?"
Our January featured artist is
Patience Zalanga<[link removed]>, a photographer and documentarian from the Twin Cities. Her work, sparked by the Ferguson protests, focuses on documenting communities impacted by systemic injustice, beginning with local protests following the deaths of Philando Castile, Jamar Clark, and George Floyd. Artist calendars were sent to our supporters at the end of 2024. Please reach out to
[email protected] if you are interested in receiving a calendar - while supplies last!

Court watching is a tactic to raise public awareness about our current legal system and also to hold the system accountable through witnessing, documenting, and sharing out. This is a powerful and critical tool for organizing because so much harm is never witnessed and then goes unchecked! Court watching is a tool of PEOPLE POWER against those in power! This training will be on how to court watch with MN Freedom Fund and then we'll have shifts for you to sign up for right away!
