Meet Our New York State Senators & Assemblymembers
------------------------------------------------------------

Get ready for our first Membership Meeting of 2025! Join us on Saturday, January 11th at 10:00 AM ([link removed]) at Prince Hall, 454 W 155th St, NYC, NY 10032 ([link removed]) , for a chance to meet our New York State Senators and Assemblymembers. We have invited them all to attend, tell us a little about who they are and how they plan to represent us and hear about environmental and climate justice policies we would like them to actively support. New York State Assemblymember Manny De Los Santos (District 72), Senator Robert Jackson (District 31), and Assemblymember-Elect Jordan Wright (District 70) have confirmed attendance.

You don’t have to be a WE ACT member to attend (though it only costs $25 per year – learn more here ([link removed]) ). Join us and get involved with the state policy initiatives ([link removed]) we champion in the 2025 legislative session! RSVP ([link removed])

** Albany Advocacy Day: Pass the NY HEAT Act
------------------------------------------------------------

Join us ([link removed]) on Tuesday, January 23 for our first Albany Advocacy Day of the year, which will focus on passing the New York Home Energy Affordable Transition (NY HEAT) Act. We will be taking a bus up to Albany and scheduling meetings with key state legislators to make sure we get this bill over the finish line. It passed the Senate last year, and we now have more than 70 sponsors in the Assembly, so we are close. Help us convince a few more legislators as well as Governor Kathy Hochul to support the NY HEAT Act ([link removed]) !

The article also appeared on Truthout ([link removed]) .

Annie Carforo was quoted in a Dallas Morning News ([link removed]) article on the benefits of heat pumps. The article was also shared by MSN ([link removed]) .
