The 2025-2028 term Commissioners were sworn in by County Clerk Anthony Forlini prior to December's Full Board meeting. Several family members, friends and other Countywide elected officials were in the audience to witness this memorable event.
Congratulations to our new Commissioners, Michael Howard of District 12 and Lisa Wojno of District 11.
District 1 Commissioner and Board Chair Don Brown resigned from his position at this meeting to pursue a new opportunity. Best of luck to him in his new endeavors. Upon his resignation, Vice Chair Harold Haugh became Acting Chair.

Student Government Day
January 23, 2025
The 3rd Annual Student Government Day will be held on January 23, 2025. The Commissioners provide this opportunity to our community’s youth so that they may learn the purpose and mechanics of county-level government and be able to participate in a way to further their understanding of how local government works. The day will include an office tour, presentations and discussions with Commissioners, the opportunity to draft a mock proclamation and a mock meeting with Commissioners in the boardroom. A $1,000 scholarship, sponsored by Advancing Macomb, will be awarded to the top essay submitted.
To participate, essays were required to be submitted by December 20th. Students will receive an email invitation for the program. Learn more at bocmacomb.org/events/student-government-day [ [link removed] ].
