Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For more than 800,000 years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm ([link removed]) .
Our Earth passed 350ppm CO2 during 1988!

Rights of Nature
Anahkwet (Guy Reiter)
Menikahnaehkem ([link removed])
Rights of Nature is a global movement that explores the concept that natural ecosystems, species, and elements, such as rivers, forests, and mountains, have inherent rights to exist, thrive, and evolve. This idea challenges traditional legal systems that treat nature as property to be exploited, advocating instead for laws that recognize nature’s intrinsic value.

Our speaker, Anahkwet (Guy Reiter), will cover key principles, such as the right of nature to be protected from harm, the right of ecosystems to regenerate, and the right of communities to defend nature from environmental degradation. He will also present case studies of the successful integration of Rights of Nature into legal frameworks, such as in Ecuador and New Zealand, and will examine the growing movement to enshrine these rights in national, state, tribal, and international law.
WHAT: 350 Wisconsin Monthly Meeting: Rights of Nature
