A newsletter from The Hechinger Report

What a year it has been.
The Hechinger Report broke news about just how often another college closes ([link removed]) . We brought you the tales of the superintendent who was shown the door ([link removed]) after doing too good of a job educating students learning English. We wrote about what child care can look like when it becomes a national priority ([link removed]) . We worked to help you make sense of how the education landscape could change ([link removed]) in the months ahead. We did it all while grieving the loss of one of our own, data reporter Fazil Khan ([link removed]) .
I am so proud to lead this team, whose work, including Fazil's ([link removed]) , left an impression ([link removed]) , leading to changed policies, inspiring new legislation, pushing people in power to take another look at their actions.
