There are plenty of words you could use to
describe a candidate who dodges the public and ducks the press. “Senator”
shouldn’t be one of them.

Take Cory Gardner ... please.

Colorado’s junior senator hasn’t held a town hall meeting in more than two
and a half years. Yesterday he became the first Senate candidate in more
than 20 years to turn down a 9NEWS debate.

But Gardner isn’t the only politician in hiding. John Hickenlooper has
skipped 19 debates over the last nine months—refusing to answer a single
question from any of his opponents since he joined the race.

We deserve better.
