In 1931, a Jewish family took a now-famous photo of their menorah in the window across from a building decorated with Nazi flags. Their courage has been an inspiration across generations.

Today, in another moment of darkness, we designed a version you can place in your home as a reminder: Jews will always resist fascism. Jews will always dream ourselves into the future.

The download includes three versions with menorahs from different traditions, including a kinara for Kwanzaa in collaboration with the Black Jewish Liberation Collective <[link removed]>.

Putting a menorah (or paper menorah cutout) in our windows is a way of sharing our joy and solidarity with our neighbors.

Today, ahead of Trump’s inauguration, doing so is also an act of resistance.

We chose this photograph from 1931 because it models the first rule of fighting tyranny: “Do not obey in advance.”
