Hi John.

It's unfortunate, but it’s becoming clearer by the day that the Republicans are not above using the pandemic as a way to undermine our democracy.

We saw it happen in Wisconsin, where legislators forced an election that put lives at risk. And we see it now with Mitch McConnell and other Republicans in Congress, who are resisting calls for remote voting by expanding access to mail-in ballots.

No one should have to risk their health in order to cast a ballot during this crisis, which is why we need to institute universal vote-by-mail. I’m calling on Congress to take action on this urgent issue immediately:

We’ve seen time and again that universal vote-by-mail works in the states where it’s been implemented. It’s popular, it increases turnout, and saves money -- and, most importantly, in this time, it keeps us safer.

California has taken the right steps and implemented universal vote-by-mail ahead of the November election, but we need to go a step further.

This issue is simply too important to sit on the sidelines, so please sign on today to demand that Congress safeguard our elections and make sure all Americans can vote by mail.
