Hi John, It's unfortunate, but it’s becoming clearer by the day that the Republicans are not above using the pandemic as a way to undermine our democracy. We saw it happen in Wisconsin, where legislators forced an election that put lives at risk. And we see it now with Mitch McConnell and other Republicans in Congress who are resisting calls for remote voting by expanding access to mail-in ballots. No one should have to risk their health in order to cast a ballot during this crisis, which is why we need to institute universal vote-by-mail. I’m calling on Congress to take action on this urgent issue immediately: Sign the petition telling Mitch McConnell to ensure vote-by-mail is implemented through November. We must protect our elections and the health of the American people.
We’ve seen time and again that universal vote-by-mail works in the states where it’s been implemented. It’s popular, it increases turnout, and saves money -- and, most importantly, in this time, it keeps us safer.
