I was done with attending funerals.  

That’s the sentiment which led me to partner with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE).  

My name is Kindsey Chadwick. I’m the interim president and long-time board member at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.  

For a long time, I worked in survivor services for victims of sex trafficking. Until one day I realized: what I was doing wasn’t working. 

Here’s a gloomy fact:

Only 8% of sex trafficking victims are actually able to exit the sex trade.

I trained law enforcement and state attorneys for years, reciting this stat to them until one day, I came to a harrowing realization:

I was attending more funerals than rescues for sex trafficking victims. 

It got me thinking: “

I’m on the wrong side of this.”

I realized I needed to get there

before

someone was sex trafficked.

Before

their chance of escape became a mere 8%.  

When I got to know NCOSE and discovered they were working on

prevention

,

I knew this was where I belonged. NCOSE is using legislation, advocacy, and litigation to

end

sex trafficking and all sexual exploitation, so that we no longer have to live out this tragic statistic.
