I was done with attending funerals.

That’s the sentiment which led me to partner with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE).

My name is Kindsey Chadwick. I’m the Chair of the Board for NCOSE. But before joining them, I worked in survivor services for victims of sex trafficking.

Until one day I realized: what I was doing wasn’t working.

Here’s a gloomy fact: Only 8% of people who are sex trafficked are ever able to escape that life.

I trained law enforcement and state attorneys for years, reciting this stat to them until one day, I came to a harrowing realization: I was attending more funerals than rescues for sex trafficked individuals.

It got me thinking: “I’m on the wrong side of this.” I realized I needed to get there before someone is sex trafficked. Before their chance of escape becomes a mere 8%.

When I learned that NCOSE was working on prevention, I knew this was where I belonged.

NCOSE is using legislation, corporate advocacy, and litigation to end sex trafficking and all sexual exploitation, so that we no longer have to live out this tragic statistic.
