This year, we've made progress we can build on this year ahead:
Black Maternal Health Week in April: We shined a light on the U.S. maternal mortality crisis. Black women are three to four times more likely to die from causes related to pregnancy or childbirth than white women.
Pride Month in June: We championed the Equality Act to secure civil rights protections for LGBTQIA+ people and families. LGBTQIA+ individuals are 9X more likely to be victims of violent hate crimes than their cisgender and straight peers.
TAKE IT DOWN ACT in July: We led advocacy efforts to combat harmful deepfake technology disproportionately targeting women--a form of sexual and gender-based violence.
