Hi,
Elon Musk and Republicans in Congress are openly discussing their interest
in cutting Social Security. Musk even tweeted that he found GOP attacks on
Social Security “interesting.”^1 This is how Republicans talk about
slashing benefits.
After meeting with Musk, GOP Rep. Steve Scalise said, “Nothing is
sacrosanct. Nothing. They’re going to put everything on the table.”^2 That
means Social Security.
The GOP has spent decades trying to cut Social Security. Now, with Musk
taking up the mantle of gutting government programs, Republicans have a
chance to actually get it done. We can’t let them do it.
