Elon Musk and Republicans in Congress are openly discussing their interest in cutting Social Security. Musk even tweeted that he found GOP attacks on Social Security “interesting.”1 This is how Republicans talk about slashing benefits.

After meeting with Musk, GOP Rep. Steve Scalise said, “Nothing is sacrosanct. Nothing. They’re going to put everything on the table.”2 That means Social Security.

The GOP has spent decades trying to cut Social Security. Now, with Musk taking up the mantle of gutting government programs, Republicans have a chance to actually get it done. We can’t let them do it.

Musk has promised “hardship” for Americans as he plans to make massive cuts to the federal government.3

Social Security has served seniors and other Americans in need for decades. As a billionaire, Musk doesn’t know how many people rely on those benefits and how government services really need to be expanded, not gutted.

We can’t let this billionaire work with Trump and the GOP to end Social Security as we know it.
