Urge YouTube to stop pushing harmful content to young girls.
TW: eating disorders and self-harm
Friend,
CCDH’s disturbing new report “YouTube’s Anorexia Algorithm” revealed that YouTube’s algorithm recommends eating disorder content to young girls, sending them down a rabbit hole of harmful information.
Anna Mockel experienced the consequences of YouTube's harmful algorithm first-hand. The 18-year-old mental health advocate from Maryland shared that YouTube had been recommending her eating disorder content since she was 14 years old. This dangerous content on YouTube kept her in the mindset “that [anorexia] wasn't a problem because so many other people online were doing the same thing."
Teenage girls deserve better.
The window is closing to challenge YouTube to fix their algorithm and stop hurting teen girls. Change must happen now. Are you with us?
Add your name to our letter to YouTube’s CEO Neal Mohan and demand urgent action to fix the dangerous algorithm that pushes eating disorder videos to girls. This doesn’t have to be our reality.

Together, our voices can put pressure on YouTube to stop harming kids.
YouTube is the most popular platform for teens in the US. It should be a priority for the company to keep young users safe. It’s time to take a stand.
Thank you for your support. Let’s build a safer and better internet for all.
