Time is running out to stand in support of the Mashco Piro this year. Will you help us reach our target? Please give today and have your donation doubled.

The Mashco Piro are thought to be the largest uncontacted Indigenous people in the world, but their lands and lives are under serious threat.

Jack, Survival urgently needs your support.

Double my gift now

Living deep in the Peruvian Amazon, the Mashco Piro are the world’s largest known uncontacted tribe. Their ancestors fled genocide just 150 years ago, and they have remained out of contact ever since. But now, their time could be running out.

Support before it's too late

The Amazon rubber boom in the late 19th century had a catastrophic impact on the Indigenous inhabitants of the Amazon rainforest. Seeking to exploit the forest’s rich resources, rubber barons enslaved countless Indigenous people, subjecting them to brutal treatment and inhumane conditions that many did not survive.

Some members of the Mashco Piro tribe escaped, fleeing deeper into the forest and establishing a way of life out of contact with mainstream society that’s helped them thrive. But today, the rubber barons have been replaced with loggers carving into the forest and laying waste to their last refuge.

The Mashco Piro are fighting for their lives yet again. They can only hold out for so long.

I'll support now

But you can help. Survival’s crucial work depends on the generosity of our donors, and if you donate today, your gift will still be doubled by generous match funders. The Mashco Piro’s future depends on the protection of their territory. Jack, can we depend on you?
