1) ELPC is Ready: Using the Power of Law to Protect the Midwest’s Environment: [[link removed]]

The election has passed, and it's clear that the incoming Trump administration will quickly ramp up attacks on core environmental laws and protections.

ELPC won't wait around; we'll put our money where our work is to address the changing landscape for environmental progress. We're immediately hiring new staff to expand our proactive work. ELPC is ready to play offense in the Midwest states — and play defense against the Trump Administration’s planned attacks on core environmental laws and protections.

The ELPC Senior Management team recently met to discuss strategically focused and viable programmatic opportunities to staff up and fight back over the next two years. ELPC’s Advisory Boards meet soon to discuss concrete actions and protect progress.

There's no sitting on our laurels right now. But we can’t do it alone.

2) Giving Tuesday Results:
Together, we crushed it! We sailed past our $60,000 goal for Giving Tuesday and unlocked an additional $120,000 in matching funds. Wow! That’s more than $180,000 raised for ELPC’s Giving Tuesday.
Many thanks to each of the 145 donors who stepped up and donated over the past three weeks. If you missed the opportunity, there's still time to give: [[link removed]]

The Midwest’s energy grid needs an upgrade. As new renewable technology emerges and old infrastructure reaches replacement time, state agencies face tough choices. Rate cases shape the future of our energy system, so ELPC expert attorneys dive into the details to protect the environment and consumers.

4) Reducing Wasted Energy, Saving Customers Money, & Boosting Reliability in Ohio: [[link removed]] [[link removed]]
This week, ELPC Senior Attorney Rob Kelter testified before the Ohio Energy and Public Utilities Committee in support of House Bill 79. This legislation aims to cut energy waste, lower customer bills, and enhance grid reliability through utility-run energy efficiency and demand response programs.

5) ELPC Defends Farmers, Clean Water in Iowa: [[link removed]]
In a case that could have nationwide implications, ELPC fought to ensure farmers have a seat at the table in defending the Swampbusters provision of the Farm Bill. "The court needs to hear from farmers who understand that destroying wetlands is not only bad for the environment, it also threatens their livelihoods."
