We sailed past our $60,000 goal for Giving Tuesday and unlocked an additional $120,000 in matching funds. Wow! That’s more than $180,000 raised for ELPC’s Giving Tuesday.

The Tradebe hazardous waste processing facility in East Chicago, Indiana, has an extensive history of permit violations. ELPC joined a coalition calling on the state’s Department of Environmental Management to impose stricter permits to protect clean air, water, and local communities. 

The Midwest’s energy grid needs an upgrade. As new renewable technology emerges, and old infrastructure reaches replacement time, state agencies face tough choices. This week, ELPC Senior Attorney Rob Kelter testified before the Ohio Energy and Public Utilities Committee in support of House Bill 79. This legislation aims to cut energy waste, lower customer bills, and enhance grid reliability through utility-run energy efficiency and demand response programs.

In a case that could have nationwide implications, ELPC fought to ensure farmers have a seat at the table in defending the Swampbusters provision of the Farm Bill. "The court needs to hear from farmers who understand that destroying wetlands is not only bad for the environment, it also threatens their livelihoods."
