============================

Dear John – this year’s Giving Tuesday comes at a critical moment for protecting domestic workers’ safety and security, and John we’re going to get right to the point: can you donate $35 now, so we can be ready to endure and lead? [link removed](25,35,50,75,100)

* The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers.

* Domestic workers have the highest concentration of undocumented workers of any segment of the economy, and the incoming administration has made clear their aim is to hunt down and deport undocumented people(1), which includes these women we depend on.

* 90% of domestic workers are women. Anti-abortion activists, emboldened by the Supreme Court’s recent decisions, want to legislate away even more of women’s basic rights and freedoms.

The typical domestic worker is paid $12/hour, and three times more likely to be living in poverty than other workers, and incoming House and Senate members have made clear they want to make permanent tax changes that would benefit the richest 1% and corporations at the expense of low-paid workers(2).

John, we get that this is a scary reality to confront. But our community is about to enter some of the most tumultuous and consequential times for domestic workers, and we need to ask for your help to be ready to endure and lead.

We’ve set a goal of raising $20,000 by midnight tonight, and a generous donor has agreed to match all donations up to $10,000. Can you donate $35 to help us hit our $20,000 Giving Tuesday goal?

Generations of domestic and care workers have paved the path we will follow. Their legacy of care has taught us how to stand together, hold each other up and press forward with the strength that generations of resilience have instilled in us.

We refuse to be caught flat-footed, that’s why our immediate priorities to minimize the harm to our community, to endure, and to lead are clear:

* Ensuring the immigrant workers in our communities are protected from increasing criminalization and enforcement measures, and that our immigrant care workforce knows their rights to fight against racist and immoral mass deportation.
* Expanding our organizing and power building efforts for Black, immigrant, and women of color domestic workers, because we know that organizing is the foundation of all our work to defend and protect the rights of domestic and care workers.

Hope is not lost amongst our community. We are ready to fight, to endure, and to lead as we face an uncertain reality that will have profound effects on our communities.

John: the most valuable thing you can do for domestic workers this Giving Tuesday is to give generously. Every dollar you donate will be DOUBLED today only, thanks to a matching contribution up to $10,000, so please don’t hold back. We have enormous challenges ahead, and every bit of your support will make a powerful difference.
