Dear Friend,

Giving Tuesday is finally here.

Today, millions of people around the country are stepping up to unleash the power of individual giving. For a small nonprofit like NCLEJ, the funds we raise today can have an enormous impact for our mission well into the future. If you have already donated, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have yet to donate, I urge you to do so now through either a one-time or monthly recurring donation. For nearly 60 years, we’ve been fighting to advance racial, economic, and disability justice for low-income people. Our high-impact litigation – to combat racist policing practices, end unlawful debt collection, expand access to life-saving public benefits, and empower low-wage workers who experience wage theft – have benefited hundreds of thousands of people.

But we can’t do our work alone. Litigation requires serious commitment and funding over the long-term. Without additional resources, we are forced to turn down work where we could have made the difference. And the re-election of Donald Trump means that we can expect renewed assaults on the social safety net, attacks on immigrant communities, and other extreme policies that harm the most marginalized people in our country.

NCLEJ is equipped with the tools to fight back. This Giving Tuesday, please make NCLEJ a priority in your charitable contributions. We need to stay on track to hit our $70,000 End of Year fundraising goal to ensure that we can continue our work at a time when our legal advocacy is more important than ever. ([link removed])

Thank you,

Dennis Parker
