Today, millions of people around the country are stepping up to unleash the power of individual giving. For a small nonprofit like NCLEJ, the funds we raise today can have an enormous impact for our mission well into the future. If you have already donated, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have yet to donate, I urge you to do so now through either a one-time or monthly recurring donation.
For nearly 60 years, we’ve been fighting to advance racial, economic, and disability justice for low-income people. Our high-impact litigation – to combat racist policing practices, end unlawful debt collection, expand access to life-saving public benefits, and empower low-wage workers who experience wage theft – have benefited hundreds of thousands of people.
But we can’t do our work alone. Litigation requires serious commitment and funding over the long-term. Without additional resources, we are forced to turn down work where we could have made the difference. And the re-election of Donald Trump means that we can expect renewed assaults on the social safety net, attacks on immigrant communities, and other extreme policies that harm the most marginalized people in our country.
The National Center for Law and Economic Justice advances racial and economic justice through ground-breaking impact litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing. We have provided legal representation and support since 1965.
