This International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, we come together to remember those we’ve lost and to offer support for those who carry their memory forward. We know this day can bring a mix of emotions — grief, love, remembrance — and that having a safe space to share and honor these feelings is so important.
We’re honored to share a special message from Lisa Sugarman (she/her), a mental health advocate, one of our dedicated Trevor crisis counselors, and a three-time survivor of suicide loss. In this video, Lisa offers a message of hope and compassion, speaking from her own experiences to those impacted by loss. As she reminds us, “Let's keep honoring the people we’ve lost by supporting each other today and all the other days. Because together, we can find healing and hope.”
We invite you to take a moment to watch her message, reflecting on the courage and compassion that can be found in each of us, even in the most difficult times.

For many, this day is also a time to honor loved ones in meaningful ways. Whether by sharing memories, lighting a candle, or finding ways to connect with others, each act of remembrance helps keep their spirit alive. At The Trevor Project, we’ve created a commemorative fundraising page ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) where you can pay tribute to a loved one lost to suicide.
By creating a fundraiser or donating in their name, you’re not only uplifting their memory but helping us continue our work to provide life-affirming resources and support to LGBTQ+ young people in need. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate their life by contributing to a future filled with hope and support for others.

Today is a reminder of the strength found in community and remembrance. As we remember those we have lost, we also renew our commitment to supporting those in need. If you or someone you know could benefit from reaching out, Trevor’s crisis services are here 24/7 ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) , offering connection, understanding, and hope. You’re never alone in this journey — we’re here to help.
Support from individuals like you enables The Trevor Project to continue our work to end LGBTQ+ youth suicide through our crisis services, as well as the development of resources and guides like these to promote education and allyship.
