Ernst cited particularly egregious expenditures in the massive $824 billion budget and committed to being part of a Republican-led effort to bring more accountability to the department. Wednesday Multiple news outlets reported that outgoing Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) is under consideration to be the next head of the U.S. Department of Labor. In a statement to Fox News, Chavez-DeRemer said she would "be honored to have the opportunity to support President Trump’s mission to empower and grow our nation’s workforce.
