President's Message American Education Week, established by the National Education Association in 1921, is celebrated annually the week before Thanksgiving to honor the vital role of education and those who contribute to creating safe, just, and equitable schools, including our dedicated school health professionals! November 20 is Education Support Professionals (ESPs) Day, a time to honor and advocate for the essential ESPs who tirelessly ensure that students are safe, healthy, and prepared to learn. School nurses play an instrumental role in schools by promoting individual and population-based student health, providing vital care coordination, advocating for quality student-centered care, and advancing academic success. Students must be healthy and safe to be ready to learn.
