The best culvert for salmon? One they don’t know they’re in.
Last month on Washington’s Anton Creek, crews wrapped up work on Wild Salmon Center's most ambitious restoration project yet on the Olympic Peninsula . At 72 feet long and 24 feet wide, Anton Creek’s new culvert is sized for the flood events of the future. And it fixes a years-long fish passage barrier for the creek’s salmon, steelhead, and lamprey—permanently reopening access to miles of excellent habitat. (Within minutes of project completion, we spotted juvenile lamprey making their way upstream.) Here's how we’re sizing restoration work for long-term success.

A letter from Wild Salmon Center President & CEO Guido Rahr
The results are in: this was a change election in the United States. As jarring as these political moments can be, we’ve been here before. We know how much this shared story energizes you, our community. And we're going to need that spirit in the coming months and years.

Corporate profile: meet the Green Spoon Sales team
When the Green Spoon Sales team voted on which nonprofits to support with their 1 Percent for the Planet pledge, CEO Kari Pedriana wasn’t surprised that they picked Wild Salmon Center. After all, building a better world is at the heart of the startup that Pedriana and her husband launched in 2012. “Our goal is to clean up grocery shelves across the country,” Pedriana says. “It’s why, for us, nonprofits that focus on the health of the land stand out.” Here's more on Green Spoon Sales's delicious commitment to giving back.
