Hello there John ,
It’s Election Day! In Utah. polls opened at 7 AM this morning and will close at 8 PM, so if you haven’t gotten a chance to submit your ballot, this is it! Elections are a crucial part of how decisions are made nationally and locally. From the federal candidates, down to your county or city council, these people all impact your life.
We all know what the federal offices do, but what about our local elections? These are the people that decide what our tax rate is and how those funds are used. They decide speed limits for our neighborhoods and improve public transportation. They choose where and how much public green space a neighborhood has, and so much more! These elections are so important for our state and our communities, not just the nation. Remember, as you fill out your ballot, start from the bottom and work your way up to the federal positions!

P.S. Voting and elections can also be a stressful time, as much as we want it to be a party, so remember to take care of yourself as you exercise your civic duty 🩷
