Dear John,

This Friday, May 15, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the latest
coronavirus stimulus package.

As drafted, it would be devastating for farmed animals.

This proposal, the HEROES Act, raises two major concerns:

1. It asks for funding to pay for horrific on-farm animal slaughter, which often includes slow suffocation of birds and slamming piglets headfirst into the ground.

2. It fails to include language mandating slower slaughter-line speeds, which is needed to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect workers, consumers, and animals.

Stimulus funds should not be used for animal abuse.

Urge your representative(s) to vote against the HEROES Act .

Thank you for speaking up.

Sincerely,
