Dr. Alaa Murabit is a medical doctor, women's rights advocate and global security specialist. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Girls Not Brides as the organisation deepens its engagement with at the national-level local communities and strengthens collective action to end child marriage.

Child, early and forced marriages and unions (CEFMU) is a violence against children. The First Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children brings together global leaders, policymakers, and advocates to address urgent actions needed to protect children worldwide.
What we are doing and where to find us: Comprehensive legislation against child marriage, Colombia: In the frame of the Conference, we are urging the Colombian government to adopt comprehensive legislation against child marriage, reflecting in the Law No. 297 of 2024 which integrates the perspectives of civil society and our collective commitment to end child marriage. Believing that now is the time to act, Sanjeev is committed to bringing about lasting change, especially for young girls at risk of child marriage.
Hope’s Story: Girls Move the World | 📍Uganda
Hope Nankunda has made it her mission to ensure girls have the chance to stay in school and achieve their dreams. Through her work, she’s helping end the cycle of child marriage and transforming the futures of young girls. Hope reminds us: "Girls move the world. The time is now to go and transform the lives of as many young girls as possible."
