Mondaire Jones is running to take back New York Congressional District 17 [[link removed]] – and he brought the fight to the debate stage. Mondaire hit his incumbent opponent on his dismal record for choice [[link removed]] , his ties to extremists and lack of action in Congress [[link removed]] , and other hot-button issues [[link removed]] . Evan Low took second place in his primary for California House District 16 by just 5 votes [[link removed]] . Now, he and his opponent met in their first debate of the cycle [[link removed]] . Evan made sure his future constituents knew where he stands on the issues – he’s ready for the November ballot [[link removed]] !
Spotlight candidate Ysabel Jurado also met her opponent on the debate stage [[link removed]] – and his Trump-like antics left a sour taste in voters’ mouths [[link removed]] . LGBTQ+ Equality Hits the Ballots
As we all know, LGBTQ+ rights are on the ballot this cycle. But several states will literally have equality-focused amendments on the ballot [[link removed]] . LGBTQ+ elected officials in California [[link removed]] , Colorado [[link removed]] and Hawaii [[link removed]] passed legislation correcting or updating language around marriage equality, while New York’s ballot initiative would update the state’s Equal Rights Amendment [[link removed]] . In South Dakota, the amendment would remove gender specific language from the state’s constitution [[link removed]] .

Spotlight candidate Nate Douglas has had a big month in his race for the Florida State House! He announced an endorsement from the Orlando Sentinel [[link removed]] before taking aim at Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” laws [[link removed]] . Nate also noted his opponent and her allies are spending over $1.3 million in ads against him [[link removed]] – but he’s still working overtime to flip this essential seat [[link removed]] !
