NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Incumbent Democratic Congresswoman Jahana Hayes narrowly leads former Republican state Sen. George Logan in the race for Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District, according to an exclusive poll from News 8, Emerson College Polling, and The Hill.
Among likely voters, Hayes holds a three-point edge over Logan, 49% to 46%. Five percent of voters are undecided. Hayes’ lead is within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.
“It’s very close; this is not any one candidate’s race,” Matt Taglia, senior director at Emerson College Polling, told News 8.

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, Israel Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Thursday.
Sinwar has been credited as the mastermind behind the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel that led to the deaths of 1,200 people, the worst terrorist attack in Israel's history.
"The master murderer Yahya Sinwar, who is responsible for the massacre and atrocities of October 7, was killed" by Israel Defense Forces soldiers, Katz said in a statement.
