Good afternoon,

As someone who has expressed interest in the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update and planning issues in general, we are writing to make you aware of a few items of note.


* Much like our planners, our colleagues in the Department of Emergency Management [ [link removed] ] spend a lot of time thinking about and planning for the future. Part of that work is collecting public input, which they are doing via a survey on wildfire risk preparedness open into November. The?online wildfire survey [ [link removed] ]?takes just minutes to complete. Results will provide a snapshot of the area?s level of preparedness and help to shape a?countywide Community Wildfire Protection Plan [ [link removed] ]. Thanks in advance for helping out our fellow county planners!

* As for the latest on the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update [ [link removed] ] (mentioned in our latest newsletter [ [link removed] ]), the County Council public hearing began on August 19th (view video recording [ [link removed] ]). That hearing was first continued to September 11th (view video recording [ [link removed] ]), again to October 2nd?(view video recording [ [link removed] ] and minutes [ [link removed] ]), and most recently to December 4th at 10:30 a.m. Details on the latest amendments under consideration can be found in the minutes from the October 2nd hearing [ [link removed] ].?

You can review the County Council?s meeting schedule ([link removed]) to stay up to date on their calendar and plans. The record remains open to provide public comment to the Council about the Comprehensive Plan in person at the hearing, or via email to [email protected].
